The artist life.

I spend more money on art equipment than I do on food.  I make sure my dogs are fed well, I have three, but apart from that, art is my everything...I feel I couldn't continue to live if I didn't plough my efforts into creating art, and I continue to hope that I will manage to sell my work in order to continue to produce it...I will never be rich, but so long as I continue to survive, I have to be happy with that. In my heart, I think that this is the common experience of the artist, both now and in the past...It's sad, but real. I wish there was a way that those, with money, that love art, could contribute to the continuation of working artists...other than just buying the occasional painting.  I don't want money for nothing, just a break from impending homelessness in order to concentrate on creating work that might bring pleasure to life.

Abstract, stretched canvas work.

I am accumulating a number of acrylic liquid canvases.  I love them, but am still trying to decide whether they are stand-alone, or need something adding to them...still a work in progress.
Maybe you have a view?  I'd love to know your views.  Would you hang them on your wall?  Let me know.

'Drifting' New work

Every week, if I manage to steal the time, I spend one day experimenting and exploring with paint and solvents, to discover new effects that I can  use in future work.  It's always a messy session, lots of fun and often wonderful outcomes follow.

This week's experiments resulted in this new painting.  I'm calling it drifting, as that is what it says to me.  Hope you like it.  Comments always welcome.
