Sketching wildlife

While the weather has been so changeable I've been sketching wildlife from photos.  It's been a nice change.
 In the garden, between showers.

Merino wool, alpaca, blue-face Leicester sheep, Jacob sheep collages

It has been lovely to experiment with some different materials in my collage work. It seems to me that using natural materials to illustrate natural environments just feels right and looks right and I love these finished works. All are in my preferred format of 8 x 8 inch mounts, with a 4 x 4 inch image. Backgrounds are 100% cotton muslin which I have hand-coloured and the materials used to complete the work are made up of 100% merino wool(dyed), alapaca, silk, blue-face Leicester sheep wool and Jacob sheep, both undyed.
